Bringing Up Baby, Part 5

Did Space Exchange II last night. Maggie's a bit skiddish, but understandably so. Afterward, as they sat on either side of the door looking at each other in the one-inch space between the door and floor, I slid little pieces of cat treats to Maggie and put them next to Stella. "We're happy." "We love each other." "Being together makes us feel like we're eating cat treats." Maggie chomped away while Stella was so preoccupied she couldn't concentrate enough to get the thing between her teeth. What am I doing in this world?

This morning at 4:00 Sam woke me up with, "did you hear that?" What? "Hissing." Hissing. Hissing is fine. And then I didn't turn over and go back to sleep. Fed and petted everyone and cleaned boxes. After my shower, I heard what sounded like a duet between Joan Crawford and Minnie Ripperton. Looked around the corner to find Stella looking through the den's ajar door. Stella growls like a little girl. Who knew? Her meow is so gutsy.

The adventure continues.
