Join Us Now. We're On A Marathon! Dancing, Dancing When the Music's Gay!

Ok. So, I understand people were saying horrible things about runners based on Mayor Bloomberg's and NYRR's decision to hold the NYC Marathon. Imagine.

And then they cancelled it.

Whatever. Whatever. Whatever.

All I know is that my stomach ache went away within a half hour of hearing the news. Because if held, I would've run the marathon. But I was so relieved that I didn't have to.

The evening of the day I learned I didn't have to run the marathon I attended the Team In Training dinner for the runners who raised money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The NYC Marathon participants alone raised 2.2 Million Dollars. Imagine.

Yesterday during what was to be our final Group Training Session for the season, the seed was planted to use the buses that were to transport us to the start of the race, to take us to a neediest neighborhood in Staten Island to lend a hand. We lent 200 hands. 100 members of our group assisted several homeowners in Staten Island as they removed their possessions that were once in the basement, to the sidewalk. Including drywall, carpeting, insulation.

And we continue to serve. In evacuation shelters, food distribution centers, in the streets.

Go Team!
