2004-09-01 12:50 PM Dreams and Dwindling IQ's As mentioned in a previous post, Rice, Randy and I went to see Akira Kurosawa's Dreams at the Student Union movie theater Monday night. As usual, the film was beautiful to watch. The surroundings detracting from the experience, however. Not only did I get gum all over my jeans from the seat I sat in (which, if you've seen the movie, you'll see the irony in this), but we were surrounded by people who walked out of the film before it was half over after making very loud, confused comments. Not only did we have viewers talking to the characters, they also had a running commentary on their confusion or distaste for the film. I started college 10 years ago this week. I hope I was a little bit more intelligent and mature than the morons I saw the beautiful movie with Tuesday night. I have hopes for myself, though -- it was also 10 years ago this fall that I first saw Dreams and I thought it was a beautiful movie then, too. In baby news, today is a morning-sick day ... all day long. Ergh. I am getting swollen and my waist is thickening so that my skinny pants no longer fit comfortably, my regular pants fit pretty well, but my most comfortable pants, my fat pants which now fit a little baggy but feel good, are now covered in gum. So annoying. When I'm feeling less urpy I'll have to work on removing the gum. Heathen college students. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
