Good morning.

R.E.M. sang about how "It's Been A Bad Day". Well, I'm looking forward at a good day. Michael's right: count your blessings, and I'm paying attention to the joyful noise.

I just ate some homemade maple almond granola and am sipping on a little bit tea. I'm looking forward to a ripe nectarine that's on my counter later this morning or in the afternoon. There's still dinner to think about, though.

Dinner at my house is interesting: Rice is gluten intolerant, Winter is lactose intolerant, I tend to verge towards vegetarianism, as does Avadore and J-Spot. Rice and Winter are most certainly not vegetarian. If the meat has any sort of bone, J-Spot just about passes out. Oh yeah, also, Rice can't eat eggs any more; due to his gluten intolerance he can no longer digest them; they make him violently ill.

Today, after I finish this, I'm going to crit a story, play with Avadore, spend time with Katie and Zane (the dog and cat), study, probably do some reading and I will definitely write. It's a good day to write. I'm feeling wonderful. Finally, I may also do a little more reorganization of the kitchen cabinets. And a nap will most certainly be involved. A bit of a rest will be necessary to continue feeling good today.

I haven't seen Rice today; he's busy working, but I have seen Winter and he seems in a fine mood. That's a very good thing.

Last night J-Spot, Avadore and I went to see Shrek 2, which we all enjoyed and got a good laugh at. I haven't taken Avadore to a movie since March. On the way home (in March, not last night) we were rear-ended by a woman with no insurance. I did, however, end up with lovely pain meds and we were reimbursed by our insurance.

In any event, I hope it's a good day for all of you.
