2005-01-03 8:48 PM that's some biscotti A pretty quiet Monday, all told. I read Shirley Jackson's "The Summer People" this morning. It's a subtle, quiet piece of horror. Very well done. Like everyone else, I've read "The Lottery" and a terribly funny essay on child rearing in school. I need to read more. Lots of other stuff today. The TV saga ended, for example. That's another entry for another time, however. Most notably for the day -- I made some really, really good biscotti. I used cranberries, pecans, lemon zest, almond and vanilla extract and covered some with dark chocolate, some with white chocolate, and some with white chocolate and orange extract. The white chocolate and orange extract are the best. They are just fabulously good. Tomorrow we're off to visit my cousin-in-law before he heads off back to school and then it's back to the usual "grind". Latin to study, things to read, writing to be done. It's good for things to get back to normal; it's a good way to start the year. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
