2005-01-06 10:02 AM lazy, lazy, lazy We're expecting quite the winter storm to come through this weekend. I live up on a hill, surrounded on most sides by hill which means winter is worse up here than down on the valley floor. And I'm so excited. The idea of not having to go anywhere or do anything is so pleasant. Yesterday, I went out and bought food so we should be covered for at least a week in terms of things like milk and bread (I can always make bread if necessary) and longer in terms of other supplies. We may need to run out and grab some caffeine today, however... hmmm.... Very important -- do not forget the caffeine. I have a lot to do: some cleaning, laundry, stories to read and critique, letters to write, etc., etc., etc. And writing -- need to write. And make a couple of queries. But I'm exhausted. My brain and body do not want to function. I think that I pushed to hard for the last few months and my body is rebelling, crying, "Give me some time off, for crying out loud!" So I will. Not that I won't get some things done. The "housewife" life never ends. I have a pumpkin baking in the oven in preparation to be frozen and made into pies and cake and bread and cookies and muffins, etc. I have laundry ready to be washed. And I have a couple of escapist novels to read: The Shining (a good being snowed in book) and The Stand, which I have never read. When I told Rice he gave me the strangest look. However, we can't expect me to read high brow literature on my day off, can we? At this rate, I may actually take the whole weekend off... What a concept.
