and it starts all over again

I went to bed about 9:30 last night, just after Avadore went down. Why? Because, evidently, I'm getting old.

And so is Avadore. When he was a baby, in general, we could watch pretty much any movie we wanted to and he'd sleep or play or do whatever baby things babies do while we watched. Of course, now, that's no longer the case.

There was some discussion last night about viewing Young Frankenstein, but it was sevenish and Avadore was still up, so there was none of that. What all this means is that if Rice and I are going to watch more mature subject matter, like Young Frankenstein or Broken Saints, we have to start at about 9:30. Once this wasn't a big deal, but now that bed looks appealing at 8:00, we may have a problem.

Speaking of Avadore aging, it's amazing to watch his imagination explode. This last week's most recent arrival was the "robot" who hangs outside Avadore's bedroom window and watches him while he's trying to take a nap or go to sleep for the night.

Even though I had an early start on sleeping last night, I slept in this morning as much as possible. This means that after 7:30, when Avadore got up, I took cat naps until 10:30. But it's time to get back in the saddle and Get Stuff Done. Laundry, making beds, studing, and some writing.

Today I was supposed to be starting on revising "Bison's Child", but instead I'll be finishing up rewrites on "El Remedio" and "Defending the Resurrectionist". I really hope they move along.
