Yesterday about 11, Rice decided to take a holiday after talking to Randy and Lacy on the phone. They were hanging out, so we thought we all should. We had a great lunch, played pinochle, dominoes, put up our feet and sighed. And the crazy thing, Avadore let us and never gave us a problem. He was so good.

Up early this morning to get ready -- lots to get done: doc appointment, laundry, all the stuff I didn't do yesterday... It was good to take a day off; I think it was needed.

I was dreading my short story I've been working on. I think I was just so tired from the weekend my semi-rational mind couldn't remember the fun I have with it and how whatever happens with it isn't that big a deal. I feel a lot more able to cope today.

So, writing today after the doc's appointment. And of course, there's some other things to think about, too. What to do with the story I had returned over the weekend, for example.
