I thought I was getting better yesterday.

I was mistaken.

And I think Avadore's starting to catch it. He's been coughing just a little bit this morning. I hope I'm a lot better before it runs over the poor little guy.

In other news, one of my scholarly heroes, among other things, died. Probably best, as these things go, but it's hard to think of him gone. Somehow the world seems a better place with him here.

I think about other people, like my grandmother or Ray Bradbury, etc., and know that one of these days they'll be gone too. It just doesn't seem right. But it's the way of things, and though the world may seem a better place while they're here, at least they don't have to deal with the day-to-day living of watching the world take the giant nose dive it seems intent on making.
