break

Today we're going north through tomorrow evening.

We're going to see Rice's GP uncle. He's a good diagnostician, a fine doctor, and very experienced.

Hopefully, I'll also get a little bit of a rest, a break. I can certainly use one.

This morning I gave Avadore a haircut. Anyone who can cut a very active three-year-old boy's hair and have it turn out halfway decent can do anything.

I also called the doc's office and got the exact data points for LD's weight and height. I have four measurements. I must admit, as a physical/medical anthropologist, his numbers make me nervous. If I were in the field I would certainly being looking for supplements for this kid and referring him to a doctor even though, except for the eczema, he's the picture of health otherwise. He's gaining weight, yes, but his percentile has dropped from the 50th to below the 5th since he was two weeks old. AGH! It's the Incredible Shrinking Baby! So we'll see what uncle doctor says.

Plan for the weekend:

Rest, read, enjoy the gorgeous fall weather, enjoy my family, write if the muse hits.

Before I leave: finish packing and write a crit for the Allusionists. Eat some real food in a decent quantity.

Next week: Lots of work, lots to accomplish. Rice will be leaving soon.
