happy daylight savings

I slept in (much needed -- baby up a lot last night) and did the email thing and it's only 10:30! Woo hoo!

We should regularly add an extra hour to our day.

Last night went to Halloween party. Provided gluten-free autumn brownies. Yum. Alas, there were none left to bring home. I was good. There was no, "Dude -- do you know what's in that?" or rather, "Dude -- do you know what's not in that?"

We certainly had a time, though. We visited and chatted and drank cider and met new people and realized there's still a few people on this hill who are still pissed at me after two years. Actually, they may not be pissed. There are several options as to why they don't really like to talk to me or look at me. (For those who were around at the time read Jean and crew.) *Sigh*

There were lots of games for the kids: broom hockey, reverse bobbing for apples, cupcake decoration, movies, and pin the holes on the pumpkin, and a pumpkin carving contest. For the adults: more broom hockey! (Avadore provided the ball. A couple dozen people had fun last night because of a three-year-old's ball. :D). And pumpkin carving, and eating, and visiting.

I met a neat lady who can't eat wheat. We had a lovely talk about Thai food and Indian food and gluten-free cooking and xantham gum.

And in the bustle of it all, I forgot to eat dinner. (Bad electricgrandmother, bad.)

I've been reading Cherie Priest's Four and Twenty Blackbirds. So far it's an excellent book. Fabulous. I'll let you all know how it goes.
