thankful

One of my girls (which is a long story, but I used to work with a bunch of teenaged girls who are now about 20) was supposed to come home from Africa via London this week. Of course, due to recent events in London related to planes, her plane was delayed, maybe for three or four days.

I'm so thankful she's safe.

And I can think of worse places to be stranded.

It's such a small world, really. One of my semi-distant cousins, who was an older woman, was on one of the planes who crashed into the WTC. Though it saddened us, we had comfort knowing that unlike so many she'd lived a full and happy life.

This particular 20 year old was just in Africa volunteering in a rural hospital. She's still in school studying nursing. She still has so much to do.

She and all the others who may have been killed.

Still so glad, despite all the inconveniences, like one having to throw away their shampoo, that they're safe.
