fall

Fall is certainly here now, I'm sure of it. I've been watching it come for a little while now, but just when it seems that it's here we have a day with no breeze and the thermostat reads 99 degrees or some crazy thing.

And if tomorrow it's no longer fall, it's back to summer heat again, at least I had today.

The light is golden, the air is a fall crisp-warm.

Rice is coming home and will stay for a week.

We're going to go upstairs and make Cookies for Ondine and hot chocolate and enjoy ourselves. Maybe we'll curl up with a good book, or some writing. Tonight there may be a movie, like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or The Machinest, neither of which we've seen.

It's a good day. These are the best days. They remind me of some of the greatest days of my life.
