When meeting your significant other's co-workers, always make sure they've been drinking, and they're happy drinkers.

It will really add to their impression of you.

Rice's tech lead told him I was a lovely person, and a nice person. I asked Rice if he had pointed out to his tech lead that he had been drinking. Rice said he hadn't. That's probably best -- this way the tech lead will have no reservations about drinking around me next time we meet and he'll continue to think I'm lovely and nice.

This may be the best advice you get from me this year. Hold it dear.
