i, too, do stupid things

Yesterday, for several now mostly forgotten reasons, I decided to do some yard work. Rice is supposed to perform these tasks because of my back issues, but there's so much to be done and he's hardly here and lots of other rationales... Anyway, I raked the dead from the front yard left over from winter. You can see where this is going? Right? Yeah. I spent several hours last night in a great deal of pain. But finally I did sleep, and I slept hard, until the kids woke and they were hungry.

I am still really sore today, and am exhausted, but I am getting stuff done. We are doing a move tonight of bookshelves and other such things so I oiled my shelves and am packing up knick knacks and other such items. (Still getting stuff done, but it's pretty light and easy work.) And it still doesn't feel so good.

Next time I get a bright idea like the one I had yesterday I do hope someone will slap the back of my head and shake it up a bit so I can see just how idiotic my bright ideas are sometimes.

My back frustrates me. I hate it that there's so many things I can't do without getting hurt. It's the primary reason why this moving and house prep thing by myself makes me nervous. I don't have that many people around who would be willing to do a lot of the stuff that needs to be done to help me. But there will be more people up north who will be willing to help if I ever get into trouble.
