i must share

I have this favorite radio station. It's one of the local NPR stations, and it is my crack. The reception in the town where I've moved is not so hot, and most of the time I can only catch snippets, overlayed with a Christian music station, and a country music station. And I will tell you, this is not my NPR.

I will admit, part of my life has revolved around the shows on this station. Some people have their favorite TV shows; I have my favorite radio shows.

All is not lost, however. I can pick up a live stream via my computer, but my computer is in the basement. I can't live in the basement all day, sadly enough.

BUT today I discovered nothing is lost. And I am so happy.

I took the kids to the river for the annual youth art festival. It is quite teh fun, with vendors, and arts and crafts projects, and live music, and a battle of the bands on Saturday, etc.

My favorite NPR station was there, and their representative told me that the station is in the process of putting everything together so that they'll have a local station and a translator up on a nearby butte (not too far from me) starting in September.

Can you feel the radiating joy? Can you feel me gush with excitement?

It's like old friends moving back, and it will have to do since so many of our best friends who have moved away will probably never move back, no matter how much they want to. No matter how much we may want them to.

So, yes -- there will be more joy whilst I clean the baths, or do dishes, or fold laundry... Chores are always more fun with NPR.

They should put that on a bumper sticker.
