on this day

I have done a first pass rewrite of just over 2100 words on a very old story, not quite 1 1/2 years old. This is good for me today. On other days I could do a complete rewrite, but I have been doing other work today in preparation for the board meeting I have been called to present at tomorrow night, and I am, once again, tired this afternoon and my brain is foggy. But I got something done, and that's a good feeling.

Tomorrow will bring more preparation and more writing. And then the board will go away for a while, hopefully, and either Cain will be raised or I will be able to focus on worrying about grants and only grants. And there will be more fiction writing time, and more child playing time, and perhaps a viewing of Across the Universe at the muy cheap theater. (It seems to be one of those movies that should be seen on a big theater with a decent sound system.) And Avadore will soon be home for two weeks at Christmas, and will probably be bored out of his mind and tell me all about it.

But I will play with my children, and I will write, and I will read, and what else could I desire, other than Tori singing "Digital Ghost"?
