one night, in bangkok

So, I've been trying to find a big person job. I recently interviewed for a technical editing job, and after an intensive interviewing process, though I was a finalist, I didn't get the job.

However, another writing opportunity has come up.

Today I got my hep and typhoid shots and my malaria pills. At 12 a.m. Monday, morning, I'm headed to Bangkok, Thailand. I'll be in SE Asia for about 8 weeks.

When I get home, it's time to find a real big person job that pays decently, especially for Northern California standards. (I live a cheapskate lifestyle, but it's still the Bay Area, and I do have financial obligations that must be met.)

A friend took me to dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant to say, "How sad about the technical editing job," and "How happy for SE Asia!"

I don't know that fortune cookies are traditional in Vietnam, but that's okay; tonight my Vietnamese fortune cookie read, "You should be able to undertake and complete anything you desire."

There's a lot of ways to read that.
