Well, we're here. In the interests of spending my time out and about and not online, I won't say too much, but I have to say that London has changed a lot in the 15 years since I've been here . . . there's a Disney Store at Covent Garden. There's a Ben and Jerry's in Leicester Square. It's hard to find a fresh-brewed cuppa (at least in the tourist areas), but we've seen half a dozen Starbucks.

Not surprising that culture travels along language routes, I guess . . . and all the travel isn't one-way, either; we do have Cadbury's in the U.S., after all . . .

But nonetheless, London is striking me as a big city very much like other big cities - except for the layers and layers of incredible history, it might be New York or San Francisco or even Chicago. Kind of disappointing, actually. So we're both really looking forward to Leeds!

We're having a good time, though. And I better get back to it - today is the V&A and then the Globe . . .
