Today was a total loss in terms of billable work, but I made measurable progress on decluttering parts of the house; the BYM emitted a theatrical shriek upon beholding the cleared and dusted surface of my vanity table. I also roasted 21 pounds of ribs (for Room in the Inn and for our own supper), using Chris Schlesinger's Rub (from Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything - the in-oven variation is not complicated, and needs only 2-3 hours). Notes to self for next time: keep the ribs covered with aluminum foil and baste more often; that said, I'll likely go back to barbeque sauce when cooking a smaller batch.

The holiday season is still chez nous: I caught myself singing "Good King Wenceslas" while hauling in groceries, and I put in some hours on a still-in-progress exchange gift. Today's mail included Nengajou from Croatia and New Mexico, as well as greetings from Michigan, Ilinois, and Tennessee. The postman also delivered my copy of Planchette, which looks yummy, although I've not yet done more than fondle its ribbons and feathers. :-)
