I am having a day of severe klutziness, even by my standards: I have walked into my car's hatchback door, knocked my head against a lamp, broken part of a takeout carton, and accidentally erased earlier drafts of this journal entry twice. Aie!

So, the short version of what I'd intended to post here:

(1) Please considering sending an e-mail or letter on behalf of Glen Edward Chapman, a North Carolina man wrongfully imprisoned for 14 years.

(2) Pete Morton sings songs that stick with me, both in tune and word. From "Another Train"...

We crawl in the dark sometimes and think too much,
Then we fill our heads with the craziest things that only break our hearts....

There's another train, there always is,
Maybe the next one is yours,
get up and climb aboard another train.

...and my favorite so far, "The Shepherd's Song" (which supplied today's subject line as well), which echoes both things planned and things percolating:

I walk to London down these roads
Where my heart and body goes
In opposite directions...

But I sing the shepherds song
As I walk along
And the bells of life are ringing,
I know there’s nothing but Eden’s grace,
And in any case,
The birds are sweetly singing.
