Subject line brought to you by the last fortune cookie I ate in 2007. To the right of my laptop, I have a copy of Thomas Hardy's A Pair of Blue Eyes. I ended up treating Leap Day as makeover day, prompted partly by a corporate dinner and partly because I'm seeing my mom next week. Pictures from Leap Day... Some people have Christmas trees. As She's Dying. There's an online auction running until July 15 called "Live Long and Marry," to which hundreds of folks have donated jewelry, themed care packages, writing and art to order, autographed books, critiques by literary professionals, handspun yarn, and a heap of other nifty things. This morning's amusement: imagining the sheer glee on the headline-writer's face upon being assigned this story. Choralnet.org's "Choral Resources" page has a category titled "Non-dopey Chanukah music." The ugly: Cubs in the postseason. I've had several hymns running through my head the past couple of days. The new Winter issue of flashquake is now up, and it includes two of my poems: "The Sharpshooter Assembles A Relish Tray" and "A Stack of Cards."


[For someone who still doesn't have her holiday mailing anywhere near done (non-machinable surcharges are going to be the death of me - my abject apologies to anyone who gets a postage-due card from me, I completely spaced on the current rate yesterday morning), it would appear that I think about December quite a bit, ne? Off to a bit more wrapping and writing and then to work...]
