I'll have much more to show and tell on this topic in January, when I get back to organizing my albums. But, prompted by Lori-Lyn, here are some of the travel discoveries that livened up my year:


Being introduced to Niki de St Phalle's work while in Charlotte for a conference (and encountering it again in Montparnasse.


Some questions are indeed written in stone. Or at least asphalt. (Ouchy lakefront, Lausanne, Switzerland)


Europe is not especially accommodating toward mobility issues, in my experience. So it was nice to see Lausanne making an effort.


My indulgences in Athens included exfoliation by fish.



In Larnaca, Suz and I became regulars at Paparazzi Cafe. This waiter always greeted us with "Hello, my ladies!"

I encountered new angles in Paris...


and met new tweeps in London...


...and fondled some yarn in Camden Passage:


I didn't realize I would still be seeing signs in languages foreign to me once I left France:
