2004-09-05 5:06 PM Braves Update Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (1) The Braves are right on course with my predictions from September 3. Today the Braves lost a hard-fought, extra-inning battle with Montreal, but took the series by winning the first two games easily.
So, now the team heads back home, where they've got a four game set against Philadelphia. The Phillies have played crappy ball since the All-Star break, so I don't think my projection of another series win (3 of 4) is particularly ambitious. A sweep would be icing... Current Braves record: 80-55 Current Marlins split: 70-62 Braves lead over Florida: 8.5 games The Braves actualy extended their lead over Florida by a half game because of Hurricane Frances. Due to the storm, Miami postponed the three game Marlins/Cub set. I anticipate this will handicap the Fish even more because they'll probably have to play a couple of double-headers to get these three missed games in before the playoffs begin in early October.
