2004-09-24 11:15 AM Off to Georgia Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) Heading down South this afternoon at 1, steeling myself for the 7 hour drive on I-85 South through NC, SC, and GA, before landing in Pine Mountain, Georgia. Steffi and I will be attending my 15th Year High School Reunion to meet up with the remnants of the Harris County High School Class of '89. There'll be a picnic tomorrow at noon in Hamilton and later a semi-formal dinner and dance in Columbus. I think there will be two people there I've actually seen in the last decade and a half, so I won't have to get reacquainted with everyone.
Should be a "hoot." *** BRAVES FRONT: Braves haven't done much of anything since my last update. They won one in Cincinnati (which I actually predicted back on the 3rd), despite the Reds being a terrible team this season. Are the Braves just slacking off becasue they know they've got the season wrapped up? Smoltzie blew a 3 run lead by giving up a 5 spot in the 9th during the second game against Cincy! Hopefully the team isn't starting to come apart at the seams right when they need to be maintaining a high level of intensity before the playoffs... Record since 9/3: 11-10 Games left: 9 Overall record: 89-64 To end at 96-66: Win 7 Magic Number: 1 The Marlins are doing everything to help the Braves win the Division without actually winning. Since my last update, the Braves' Magic Number has dropped by 4 because the Marlins have lost 3 games while the Braves have only won 1. Since the Braves are playing the Marlins tonight and the next two days, it should actually be possible for them to win the division by winning one of these three games.
