My folks once told me about a family friend, a woman, who keeps a little black book as a record, not of phone numbers, but of the books she's read. Having thought about Dottie's "book journal" off and on and being in a retrospective mood already, I thought it would be interesting to put together a list of the books I actually managed to read this year. While this collection certainly comes nowhere near to matching the reading docket of my dad or even some of my friends (60+ books in a year!), I'm happy to be able to say that I managed about 1.5 books a month.
