Head in Sand

This is simply an admission of my continued existence. I know I've broken my February 15th pact to write an entry a day, spending at least 15 minutes on it. Well, obviously, I haven't forgotten it, and I will hopefully get back on track soon, but recently there have been just a few too many ups and downs to take that self-created assignment too seriously.

I've been sick for the past week, missing about two and a half days of work and a lot of sleep due to one of the most massive head colds I've ever had. I've mentioned to a number of folks that, up to this point, I had never been able to empathize with anyone who proclaimed to be suffering from a sinus headache. Well, now I know: Absolutely everything above the neck aches. For two days my teeth actually hurt because of - I can only assume - all the pressure built up in my sinus cavities, eustachian tubes, etc., etc. Sickness definitely beats out ego when it comes to "worst case big head" syndrome.

Anyway, I've got work to do today, a Saturday no less. I've been remiss with the further development of Heather Delisle's website and need to get something else for her to see soon. And later this evening I'll be attending a belated release party for Jason Lundberg's and Janet Chui's food-related anthology entitled Scattered, Covered, Smothered at the Internationalist Bookstore in Chapel HIll at 7 pm. It'll be nice to see those two as well as Luna and Andreas Black and Mike and Elizabeth Jasper again.
