Just got back from Franklin Street in Downtown Chapel Hill. Wild, shirtless (and durnk) men. Bright and wide-eyed (and drunk) women. Lots of shouting. Elbows. "We're Number One!" TAR on the one side, HEELS on the other. One f-ing huge and rowdy mosh-pit. Smiles all around. People climbing in trees and on the street signs. What seems like millions pouring into one Main Street in the middle of Carolina heaven. Bonfires scattered here and there. Aerial shots from WRAL helicopters showing kids jumping over and through those bonfires. (Who knows how many'll have third degree burns tomorrow -- and won't care?) Seventy five to seventy, and there'll be no more academics on campus for the next five days. 5 point margin for victory, 5 days of drunken debauchery and jubilation. I'll go to work tomorrow and all the underclassmen will go to work on their 75th beer. Roy and Jawad get their titles, Steffi and I get to go to VT knowing what it's like to have a national championship basketball team. 'Cause goin' out is what it's all about, y'all...

No more yelling, "GO HEELS!" They went, left Illinois like pureed pumpkins and the Duke Devils blue with envy. Six straight, BABY!
