Two Men and a Truck arrived in Blacksburg today around 1:00 and helped us complete the second half of our move. Jason and Duane moved all the heavy stuff, and with a little assistance from Steffi and myself, everything got wrapped up by around 3:30. Jason talked through much of the job, going on for at least a half hour about the most recent Star Wars movie -- never (thankfully) giving too many of the plot details nor scenes away. It was pretty clear that the film had made an impression on him, despite the fact that he voiced a number of complaints, especially about the story, and lamented that the third (and perhaps final?) installment of Lucas's epic wasn't nearly as tight as any of the original trilogy. Duane was a lot more tight-lipped, but he was may as well have been a stand-up comic when he did talk...

At this point, we've unpacked about 90% of the boxes and are actually pretty amazed at just how this house makes it seem like we possess so little furniture. We've turned the two smaller rooms (read bedrooms in "Realtor-speak") into personal offices, and while we've fit two bookcases, a desk, and a filing cabinet or two in each our working spaces still seem spacious and comfortable. We're both feeling pretty self-satisfied and lucky right now...For the last five years or so the two of us have been packratting furniture -- an activity that cramped us in our last apartment. I guess we'd always just assumed that we'd end up in a residence that would accomodate the collection. Now we need to learn to stopper any further urges to buy yet more stuff...
