Nifty writing news

Last year was, I thought, a pretty slow year publication-wise -- I only had four stories see print, and my story collection got bumped to this year.

But, as my in-the-know pal Tim informed me, I did good with my stories from '04 -- "Coal Ash and Sparrows" and my Wannoshay story "Redemption, Drawing Near" were listed as Honorable Mention stories in the 22nd edition of Gardner Dozois' Year's Best Science Fiction anthology. Sweet!

The funniest thing about this is that the collaboration I did with Tim, "Helljack," which is a bloody, gruesome, almost tongue-in-cheek (tongue-THROUGH-cheek?) horror story. And it was listed in the year's best SF antho as a good story to check out. Nifty.

Also, "Helljack" was reviewed over at Tangent Online, where the reviewer dug it, finding it "gruesome and entertaining." Double nifty. Later!
