Update on moving:

Packing is going slowly.  I'm channeling an ostrich right now, keeping my head in the sand with thoughts of L.A., but not of actually packing.  There's so much to do that it somehow seems easier to not do any of it and just hope it does itself.  I'll kick myself next week when that logic doesn't pan out.

Update on writing:

I have a new novel in the works.  It's sort of a mythical type of sci-fi, a combination of Greek/Roman style mythology and normal sci-fi.  Although I'm not actually using Greek or Roman mythology in it, just using it as inspiration for character design for a couple of my characters.  And basically, I'm ignoring my other novel that's in the works.

Update on Izzie:

She's been annoyed that I moved her to my mom's for the duration of this transitional process.  Also a bit nervous and freaked out.  She remembers my mom's place, and my mom's smell, but it's still not home for her (I totally understand that--we're on the same wavelength, I tell you).  She's now got a harness-style collar that is the source of most of her annoyance, and a leash which I haven't yet tried to use with her.  I'm still trying to figure out how do a road trip with her, but I do know that she'll be getting some Benadryl to make her drowsy and less panicky.  She does alright in the car, but I want to minimize her trauma, and making her sleepy and calm will help that.  Plus, it's not so strong that it will make her feel all that disoriented, just drowsy.  There's the added benefit that she won't be experiencing allergies on the trip down there--she's been a bit sneezy lately, but otherwise fine.  I've been having the same symptoms, as has my mother, so the theory is that it's a mild allergy to some sort of pollen or another.

Update on the Evil Computer of Doom:

It's been sent back to Alienware via FedEx at their expense, and I should hear back from them about it by the end of September.  Once I get it back, if it actually works as it's supposed to, I'll either keep it or sell it and buy a new one.  I'm leaning towards the selling (I could probably pretty easily get $2500 out of it.  I paid $3500 excluding the cost of the warranty and shipping.) and buying a MacBook.  The rest of the cash I get out of it (assuming I actually do get that much out of it) I'll probably send off to my student loan people or stick in savings.  Possibly a new purse too.

Update on Gaming:

I reached level 50 with Theiyla, my mage.  For those of you who don't play WoW, just know that it's taken me almost a year to get here, and most people are not as slow as I am (then again, many gamers don't have jobs, school, or a life, and those who do have those and level much faster than I have clearly dislike fishing in-game).  Ten more levels to go before I'm level 60.  Then I get to spend my time preparing for the expansion to come out.  Then another ten levels to 70.
