the wisdom of no escape

That's the title of a book I read recently by Pema Chodron, a buddhist nun. She suggests that sometimes the best place you can be is the place there is no escape from, where/when all you can do is sit with the anxiety, the alienation, the brokenness, the failure. I find this a very hard teaching, but I believe it is wise as well. I'm trying to fill the void a little less, but the instinct is very strong and habitual.

What is your experience with such things?
