5 year plan

Are any of you the kind to always have a plan, always charting your course, knowing where you are going, or at least where you are aiming?

I'm afraid I'm much more likely, as the adage says, to aim at nothing and hit it. Not that I regard my life as a wasteland with no achievements, but the older I get the less ambitious I seem to get.

I hear stories of the people who wrote down a list of the 20 things they wanted to do, and worked their whole life till they completed all of them. I always wonder if I'd like these people if I met them.

Maybe I just never get specific enough with my goals. I'd like to solve world hunger, make Bush haters and Clinton haters able to have productive political conversations, stop child and spousal abuse, stop all killing in the name of religion, etc.

Maybe one of these days I'll just feed someone who is hungry, listen to someone who hates Bush, contribute time and money to a shelter, and teach my kids that religion is never an excuse to do violence.
