Green Bay Packers 0-2

Well, the Packers are 0-2, having lost to two teams most people say are no good themselves. Last year they started 1-4 and miraculously made the playoffs. The prognosticators say this is just a bad team and going nowhere. Brett Favre has never had a losing season, so we'll see what he can do.

Reasons for optimism: Brett Favre. Sherman's teams usually show signficant improvement over the course of the year. There are many young players starting and maybe some of the mistakes will diminish as they get experience (like the 60 and 80 yard touchdowns the defense gave up yesterday).

Reasons for pessimism: Javon Walker out for the year. Ahman Green having sub-60 yard rushing games. Not a single defensive player who can make things happen (Kabeer Gbaja Biamila is a good player but not a game changing player). They are 4-6 in their last 10 games at Lambeau field -- they and their fans don't intimidate anyone anymore.

It doesn't look pretty in my book. I'm thinking 6-10 right now, 8-8 only if they really get something out of at least three of the unproven young players. But I'll still have the green and gold on every Sunday one way or the other.
