Sometimes good stuff happens

Tonight was just one of those times you want to put in a bottle so you can drink up more of it later. It was a simple thing really, and I'm not even going to go into details.

It's amazing how small moments can mean so much in our lives -- whether for good or ill. We can remember something unkind someone said 20 years ago and still feel the pain bodily. We can catch a scent and be transported to far away places. I sometimes wish simple things didn't register so deeply, couldn't register so deeply, because the pain of some moments is almost unbearable.

But it's the way we are. It's the way the game is played. It's nice once in a while to have experiences that make you feel like you can dare to stay engaged in the struggle.

And I know some of you are struggling and I wished tonight that somehow I could share some of the good stuff with you, include you in this warm fuzzy. I want to hope that it will be worth it for you to keep holding on. But I want to do that in a way that doesn't cause any pain, and I know full well I can't make any promises. Perhaps the best I can say is that in the midst of this warm moment, I want to reach out to you and hold you so maybe you can relax and let go for just a bit, and find a moment of rest.

Peace be with you.
