Is finding matching socks good news?

Mood:
::deflated::

I found myself praying for some good news last night. It has been a very dry season for good news since my friend Roger got fired from his job months ago. It seems that a lot of bad luck has befallen many of my friends and strangers alike over the last few months. Roger still hasn't been able to find a job. My fiance just got laid off. A couple that are good friends of mine have decided to get a divorce (after less than a year of marriage). And of course, who can forget about September 11. I know I can't. In fact, I make it a point to remind myself about it every time I whine or complain about my job, or about weighing more than I want, or anything that doesn't remotely matter, because I'm still alive.

So, I sent up a humble little prayer for some good news.

First thing this morning, Jenn and Kenny inform me that another plane has crashed in New York. WHAT???? Um, excuse me God...I said "GOOD" news!!!

The "good" news is that I'm still alive, I still have a job, and I haven't gained any weight. The "good" news is that my friend Roger may still not have a job, but he's still hopeful.

A pregnant friend of mine had a baby last week. Lars. That's good news.
