Describe the first story you ever sold to any publication. What was the title of the story? The name of the publication? The plot? The public reception to your work?
my first sale was not a story, but a non-fiction account of my daughter going off to college. it was called "Off She Goes", published by Sassee Magazine. i was paid 10 cents a word, and a copy of the magazine. i received much positive feedback, and i framed a copy of the check for $75!!!
i will never, EVER forget the day that came in the mail. 'bout wet mah panties.
