be vewy, vewy quiet...

okay. new year's done and gone, let's move on, shall we?

****

it was fairly quiet and without incidents. the knight was sick with food poisening, and his asthma is awful. i use cedar for cat litter for sparky, and looks like he's allergic. we'll fix that.

he told me to pick a day for us to go to dinner. i looked at him with a puzzled look, and he said,"I have a special place in mind. I have something to give you and something to ask you."

the year should prove interesting.

****

no, i didn't pick a day yet. i was trying to breathe.

****

there was no dearth of drunk stupid people in here last night ( i stayed up way past my bedtime; the girlchild was on and i just wanted to make sure everything went okay ) but for the most part they were very polite, even in an inebriated state. i will say the majority of them were a lot perkier when they got here last night than they were this morning when they left. *snicker*

****

the BF sent the girlchild a portable DVD player for christmas, and it's the coolest little gadget. i got to borrow it today whilst she gets her beauty sleep, and i'm still in my jammies having watched "Four Brothers", ( good movie, i really liked it ) "A Mighty Wind", ( one of my all-time very favorites ) and "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar" ( another one of my all-time very favorites.) next on deck is "Best In Show" ( yes, another all-time very favorite. ) what a way to bring in the new year...in my jammies, in my bed, watching my favorites. life is a blast.

****

i wish walmart wasn't selling movies so cheap. very dangerous. when the girlchild caught up with me yesterday i had 11 in my hand and she made me put all but three back.

well, someone's gotta watch me.

****

so, i'm going back in to watch "Best In Show"...i love those two movies. ( "A Mighty Wind" was done by the same group of people. ) i think they should do one on ice skating, ballroom dancing, and maybe swimming or cat shows. it's all so tongue-in-cheek and hysterically funny.

i know the words to all the songs in "A Mighty Wind" and i sing them, too. so does the girlchild. most of them are so funny they crack me up, but "Kiss At The End Of The Rainbow" ( sung by Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as Mitch and Mickey ) was co-written by Annette O'Toole ( who did many of the songs )and was nominated for an academy award.

the one that cracks me up the most is the title song...

There's a mighty wind a-blowing
Across the land and across the sea
It's blowing peace and freedom
It's blowing you and me!

<- gigglin'

****

well, hope ya'll had a pleasant evening and a hangover-free morning...let's hop on this horse of 2006 and ride, shall we??

:)

ps... i have decided to enumerate my goals later this week. i don't want to make any rash statements in the aftermath of new year's. i don't think it's healthy or prudent.

;)
