divorced, kissed and fed

i tried to divorce myself from this place as much as i could today, and the results were good.

the knight stopped by for his daily morning visit, and brought lunch. ( ham sammiches, chocolate chip cookies...yum!) he kisses like an angel. :)

the weather was absolutely stupendous today. it's windy, but it got up to 66, sun shining...this canNOT possibly be the end of january. the knight did his route today in shirtsleeves, happy as a clam. it's amazing how the weather affects people...even the crabby girlchild wasn't so crabby.

he stopped by with breakfast. i managed to get some more macking in. heh.

we went for a walk, ( my ankles are screaming, but to hell with them ) and stopped into walmart where we bought chips, ( i never saw the chips again when we got back ) cat food, a movie ( "Cruel Intentions"...her treat ) and an unecessary skein of the most scruptious yarn. ( i've been knitting like a fiend, keeping my hands busy and stocking up for next year. i have two scarves, one pashama shawl and another shawl done and one started. )

when we returned, i was tired. so i took a nap! yes i did! AND IT WAS GOOD. i might do that again!!

the brain is still a little fuzzy, i'm sure it might not know what to do with some rest, but the cobwebbies should pass.

****

the wind is moaning through here like a woman in labor. it's the wierdest sound...i think it's blowing through the elevator shaft or something, but the sound moves through and around the lobby like an uneasy ghost. strange. it sounds like some poor soul weeping and wailing.

well, who knows what stories, feelings, incidents lurk in the walls here. i have to stop thinking of "The Shining" before i freak myself out.

the girlchild is working tonight...i think i may keep the lights on.

****

the only work related news is Guido hogged the computer earlier, but he's all happy and chirpy because we have to wear uniforms now. oh, HE doesn't...as long as he's in a dress shirt and tie ( with his hair slicked back, straight back, mind you, with about a quart of motor oil or some such shit ) he's okay. it's the rest of us little people, the peons, that have to wear the polyester shirts supplied by the company.

gah.

Dancing With The Stars tonight, people.

oh, by the way...on American Idol last night, the last contestant was a boy. he didn't really look like a boy, but his name is Zachary and he's 17. he is very thin, he wore high heels, jeans, a white t-shirt and his hair was bobbed. ( i thought he was cute. ) no make-up, but i did notice he shapes his eyebrows. his voice was very high and effeminate.

the judges couldn't really tell if he was male or female and actually asked him that question. it didn't faze the little guy, he said, ( paraphrased ) "I am who I am, and those people that don't like it, that are prejudiced, can all KMA." but he was very polite and respectful.

his mom, his grandmother, his aunt and other family members were all there to support him. so, he sang.

he wasn't horrible, but he wasn't that great, either. but, the judges were really mean and hurtful in their assessment ( well, not paula ) and he left in tears.

was that really necessary? WTF with the gender questions, the disrespect? that poor kid. he seemed pretty happy with himself the way he is, and that's a major accomplishment from someone who's only 17 and living in a conservative america.

i challenge anyone, and i mean ANYONE, to look at someone like Zachary and tell me he wasn't born that way. BULLSHIT. tell me he's an abomination and not one of god's children. DOUBLE BULLSHIT. if god made us all, then god loves us all.

god bless Zachary, and everyone like him.

ah, the fascinating facts of my life. aintcha glad you stopped to look??

:)
