yes, i'm up late

well, since my rejections from Surreal, i decided that i should make a list of second markets for every story i have out and about. i've gotten started, but not finished yet.

i printed off "George and Tom" ( working title only ) and re-read big d's crit...i have a market in mind and i'll be re-working this. it needs a good overhaul, but the bones are there and i can work with it.

at some time i'm going to have to ask for another crit.

remember the sneaky monkeys that smuggled twelve kids in here for a birthday party? well, i found out today that she has called the corporate office and claimed discrimination because her kids were not allowed to swim and it was all because they were black. now the state is involved.

first of all, in this part of town, if we discriminated against blacks we would have absolutely no business. secondly, they were over the legal limit of people per room, PER STATE LAW. thirdly, I LET THE LITTLE BUGGERS SWIM THE NEXT MORNING, AS A FAVOR TO THE HEAD HOUSEKEEPER, WHO WAS RELATED TO ONE OF THE GIRLS.

i'm just soooooooooo disgusted right now.

and fourth, the room was trashed and she was never charged anything extra.

people make me SICK.

this is what i get for bending over.

*sigh*

you know, i think we all have our prejudices and pre-concieved notions about people. first impressions are lasting, they say, and it's true. but i have made an effort since i was young not to judge a book by its cover because having been an outcast for the majority of my life, i know what it feels like to be on the outside and i never wanted to make anyone else feel like that. i brought my kids up the same way. racism offends me on such a deep level, i can't even tell you. to have someone accuse me of this makes me nuts.

gah.

****

bring it, that's all i have to say. BRING IT.

other than that, it's been a fairly quiet day. the knight spent part of his day at the hospital getting a doppler, no clot but his leg is starting to ulcerate. tomorrow we have some errands to run, and he's determined even though they told him he should stay off his feet.

that's okay, i'll keep my eye on him.

****

going through the work i have shopped out, i have noticed that they do not all fit in one category. there's fantasy/myth, fantasy, mainstream/lit, dark psycho, and a horror. what does that make me?

insane, that's what it makes me. i hate labels.

****

so, back to chasing markets. i want to be prepared, so i can keep these puppies in the game. that's the deal.

:)
