2006-01-30 5:28 PM mundane and piddly, but it's mine the mountain of laundry is done. *phew*
the laundromat is such an interesting place, isn't it? i think i am the only white person ( besides the girlchild ) that i've seen in the one i frequent. it doesn't make me nervous, 'cept that one time when the crack ho came in about seventy times asking me for extra change. that was something else, lemme tell you...she was wired, be-boppin' all over the place, shoving her hands in her pockets and covering her face with her hood. it was cold that day, and i felt bad for her, but i held on to what change i had. ( c'mon, i work part-time. yes, the knight is my back-up, but what am i gonna say? oh honey, i'm all out of money because i gave it to a crack ho? yarite. ) anyway, she popped in and out for the hour and a half i was there, and apparently she found money from somewhere...she had gone to Dollar General and bought one of their little lunchable thingys...and then offered to share it. that touched me. however, i declined. i hardly look like i miss many meals, and she looked like she had missed quite a few. **** i had a couple of things to do today, and even though i'm much better at finding my way around, whenever i have to go a new way somewhere, or to someplace unknown to me, i get really bunged up. i mean, my heart rate increases, i sweat, i bite my thumbnail ( it drives the girlchild batty ) and i have to turn the radio down. i mumble the directions to myself over and over, and strain to see the next landmark. and that's better than i was! i hate getting lost, even though i've gotten lost around here and have been able to drive myself out of it. ( for example - the drive to the zoo. hahahahaahahaha! omg, what a trip that was! i turned a half-hour drive to three times that. 'bout made the knight shit his drawers when i finally told him, poor guy. ) i wonder if i'll ever get over this particular neurosis. all thanks go to The Lunatic From Hell, ( aka He Who Must Not Be Named ) god rot his eyeballs. **** did manage to work a little bit on "The Prize", ( you may remember it, probably not... i had it posted here at one time for about three days ) and i think it's workable. i know, i have too many irons in the fire, but as you can probably tell, i have the attention span of a gnat. i just can't look at something for a long time - i'll miss stuff. stuff that will jump right out and slap me a week or a month later. i've gotten no news on the pieces that are out, either, but no news is good news i'm thinking. maybe that means i have a shot...now, wouldn't that be a good birthday present? i think so. **** the knight's leg is not improving. he let me look at it this morning before work, but he would not let me see it after work. it was really bothering him, i could tell, and he voiced a concern about a staph or strep infection. i believe there will be another trip in the very, VERY near future to the doctor. i'm gonna look at that thing tomorrow morning if i have to rip his pants off. hey, a girl has to do what a girl has to do, right? *snicker* **** wednesday we have an appointment with a lawyer for the whole damned WC thing. i'm sick of dicking around, and i finally got through that thick irish head that i love so very much. i've got a list of questions two pages long, and you better believe i'm getting some answers. this whole thing has been driving me NUTS. i also want to know what his options are as far as this service related ulceration business...the first hour is free, and i'm wringing everything i can out of it. i want him safeguarded, goddammit, he's earned it. **** geez, now i went and said the GD word. i hate that. **** so that's the mundane, piddly stuff from a mundane, piddly day in a mundane, piddly life....and it's all good. p.s. you know, i pop in and out of a lot of blogs here, and i just want to say...i'm not in my twenties and i wouldn't go back there for all the tea in china. i like being in my forties and i'm glad i can stay here for a coupla more years, at least. ( and i'll lie like hell once i'm out, you can take that to the bank. heh. ) :) Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
