turning the leaf

just wanted to tick over the calendar to february. y'know, it's the shortest month of the year in day count, but it seems to be the longest of the winter season. maybe because we're anticipating spring.

i can't complain about this winter - it's been the mildest one i have ever experienced. EVER. i never realized how harsh and brutal it was living in upstate NY until i moved away. i took it all as a matter of course, it was normal, everyone lived that way during the winter.

it's amazing what you get used to, isn't it?

sometimes i miss it, but it's a fleeting moment. i'm getting too old to have to battle the elements just to get to the store for a dozen eggs.

****

american idol rocks, and i hope that young man with the grey hair goes a long way. he sang some sam cooke that got my panties all in a bunch. *whew* that was smoking!

****

yes, i did watch the majority of the honored president's speech. it was about what i expected and i threw two shoes at the wall. i'll probably go into detail later, but for now i gotta run.

****

oh yeah, i changed the curtains and the wallpaper....what do you think?

:)
