let it blow

i thought it was time to change the carpet and the curtains. besides, that eye was a little freaky. heh.

****

change is the only constant, you notice that?

i have a date tonight. relax; it's a girl's night out, and i don't have to work tomorrow. there's a mystery-theater-dinner-thingy sponsered by the Rotary Club, and Gem got tickets. i'm not really sure i'm feeling up to a social type activity, with other people in the flesh, but Gem would never go by herself and she really wants to go. i haven't been to any live theater in years, so it should be fun.

*breathing*

yup. it'll be fun.

****

and while perusing YouTube (my favorite time-waster) i found a clip from the Edwin McCain concert i attended last summer, Live on the Levee. i'm either going to have to break out the camcorder this coming summer, or figure out how to do it on my camera, but i'm getting footage. (probably the camcorder is the way to go, although it uses 8mm tapes.) you may remember i won the camcorder at Loser's Bingo; heh.

anyway, it reminded me of how much fun i had at those concerts, and i looked up who they have on the lineup for this year, but it's not posted yet. the possibilities include Joss Stone, Nelly Furtado, Ben Folds, REO Speedwagon, Jodee Messina, and George Clinton.

something to look forward to.

my 'application' to study with a spiritual master (giggle) has been approved, and i have started my homework/lessons (although after the previous remark, i'm sure i'm going to take a lot of flak, but hellfire, the truth is the truth, after all.) i'm really looking forward to where this takes me -- organized religion only means material for me to rant about, so we'll just leave it there.

you just never know where the paths of life will take you.

that can be a good thing.

my heart goes out to my friends who are having a particularly difficult time. i wish love was all it took to make things right, but it doesn't work that way. still, they have it, and i just hope the winds of change start blowing in a favorable direction.

****

and, on that note....

****

I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change

The world closing in
Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change

Chorus:
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever

I fallow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

The wind of change blows straight
Into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring
The freedom bell for peace of mind
Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change.
