2007-02-04 12:59 AM the hamster's running it's one AM and i'm tired. i'm not sure i can sleep, so here i am.
sparky's curled up on my bed, and i can hear her snoring over The Corrs singing, "Somebody For Someone," which inspired Dead Line, the victim of nine rejections. almost every rejection had the same reason -- they wanted to know why Aralynn does what she does. and why Micah is there. *sigh* yes, i do know why. but, how does that impact the story? the story isn't about WHY she is doing her thing, or why Micah does his. it just is. there's a beginning, a middle and an end. maybe not a concrete end, but does every single story have to be tied up in a neat bow? do we always have to know why? why?? we don't know why most of the time in real life. fuck me runnin, the more i think about it the more frustrated i get. i could expand it, or re-write it entirely, but i really like it the way it is. hellfire. **** okay then. "To The Promised Land" has been through two edits and i think it's looking clean. i believe i will send this out (after formatting, which can take as long or longer than writing a fantasy trilogy) to SH or A&A. i think this is the best piece that's come out of 3Words so far. i had the concept for a couple of years, just never found the right time to sit and actually work it. again, if you haven't done 3Words, it really is a blast. i can't believe it's been going on a year. rando's the most prolific of us and the most disciplined. (we won't mention who is notoriously late, ahem.) i've missed a few months, but have been consistently surprised at what comes out. i've done fantasy, spec-fic (or slipstream, depending on your definition,) romance (ick!) maybe i'll write something funky, like a BDSM romance, a western, or a science fiction (double feature) picture show. heh. **** i'll have to look through a couple of notebooks for ideas. seemed to work for the last story. Carolyn is just gonna have to wait. she's not singing loud enough. **** what i'd really like to work on is Dream Weavers. hellfire, the way these birthdays are coming around anymore, i'll be dead and buried before i get to it. daylight's burning. **** well, i guess i've bored myself enough to see if i can get some sleep. that is, if sparky will give me any room. Check out TSB for the most legal fun you can have with your clothes on. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
