gimme my blankie

the geeks go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah....

it's amazing to me. all the toys, software, hardware, updates, options, plug-ins, feeds and clicks. it's overwhelming, and it feels like a total overload.

i can't keep up. i don't think anyone can. sometimes i sit and look at a document, either something i'm reading and trying to learn or something i'm writing, and say, oh HELL NO, i can't do this anymore. me brain is saaaaamokin'.

i might just be stretched in too many directions, but my head feels small. my hair is tight. my eyes feel like i just had a lift done and the stitches are new.

not that i would know.

****

the Weird Chick has a PI on her tail. i remember a month or so ago i arrived early for work, and she was outside macking with some dude. i thought it was her BF. i guess not.

she had a gift for this Mack Daddy delivered to the hotel, instead of her house.

just the facts.

my heart might betray me, but my gut, never.

****

i heard briefly on the news that Letterman cut a deal and is returning with writers, whereas Leno is returning with no writers. (since the both of them have worked as writers, i don't see the challenge.) Leno is prohibited from using pre-prepared material, and i'm sure some guests will not want to cross the picket line.

the whole strike, i read, is hinging on the rights of writers for work distributed on the internet and new media. i guess we'd better pay close attention to where this goes.

****

it is bone-chilling cold. single digit cold. still, it's supposed to hit the fifties in a couple of days. it's crazy, i tell you.

my fingers are fair frozen.

****

i would like to find some format in which to plan my dayz. i'm wasting a lot of time, and if i have specific blocks of time in which to accomplish certain projects, i might see some of them to completion.

i think that's a good idea. if it works, great, if it doesn't, i'm no worse off, right?

(i can see you smirking from here. knock it off.)

****

i promised i'd be in bed early, and that's just what i'm going to do. it's cold, i'm tired, my heart is a little heavy today and i have a new blanket. a red one. a soft red one, the color of a deep garnet. it has two matching pillows.

that is, if i can get sparky off of it.

heh.
