This song ranks right up there as one of my favorites. Is that you, baby, or just a brilliant disguise? i mean, he gets it, he really does, and the way he expresses so many universal emotions and heartaches is just amazing to me.
take for instance, this video from 1985. (no to mention he's hawter than a pistol with an ass that won't quit omg okay?) i have never been in the situation in depicted in this song, but does my heart ache? Don't you feel like a rider, on a downbound train? oh, oh, yes. there's something here that speaks to me on visceral level. i think this is my favorite.
or maybe this one. She'll let you in her heart, if you gotta hammer and vise, but into her secret garden, don't think twice. You've gone a million miles, but how far'd you get? That place where you can't remember, and you can't forget.... oh yeah, he gets it.

i spent the day with Bruce and it was lovely. he's lovely. he makes lovely music, and the knight has lovely taste.

do you know someone who has no fears or insecurities? wait, that's not quite right. do you know someone who appears to have their shit together, but has the same issues most all of us do? that realization can be a bit of a shock, and a reality check. it's like, no matter how long or how well you think you know someone, you really don't. especially if they have an outside that misleads you.
an unintentional mislead, you understand.
and then i wonder if we all do it. you know, like, "how are you?" "fine." when nothing is fine, or it's better than fine and you don't know how to handle either scenario. but you seem like you do.
