2008-02-09 5:18 PM no rest for the wicked and other news you ever try to shoot a hamster? those fuckers are slick!
**** i have four copy pieces that are due tonight and two for tuesday. this is after all my normal shifts plus two sick shifts this week. i'm a little tired. oh but sure, netta, here you are blogging! shouldn't you be working? why, yes, yes i should be. and i'll git 'er done. but if i don't blog i'm going to kick my cat, and she hates it when i do that. **** one of the people from the airport called me last week to set up a room for a pilot coming in from another country. italy, as a matter of fact. doesn't speak english well, brand new to the area, staying for long term. i hooked him up with a decent rate, and slated a special room for him. gave directions, took his info, gave local info, and i had no problem understanding him. paisan, yanno. he asked my name, and he repeated it (in a way only the italian can do) and said, oh! you're italiano! bella, bella! anyway, he checked in today and gah, i have to laugh. italians are something else, they really are. i don't know how to explain it, but i understand them at a cellular level, and i think that's my DNA talking. which is cool. the DNA part of my ethnicity doesn't bother me, because my italian blood relatives were relatively cool. i adored my grampa and uncle. (too soon you left us, too soon.) but, there's another side to that coin, and that would be the family i married in to. not so cool. so there's the dichotomy, you see. when i meet italians now, they usually fall into one of a couple of categories. for the females, it would be either Madonnas or Princess Bitches, and for the males, it would be Mama's Boys or The Amazing Wandering Penis (And Other Assorted Vices.) (there's other categories; this is strictly generally speaking, and definitely my own opinion based on my own experiences, and not necessarily endorsed by The Management.) categories can (and often do) overlap, some positively and some....well, not so much. *shrugs* people are people, and pretty fascinating, at that. nice little man. very neat and meticulous. no hair. big, brown eyes. thick lashes. gregarious and amazed that i sounded so much younger on the phone. he told me on the phone he thought i was in my early twenties, but seeing me he put me at about thirty. heh. (he already got a decent rate, i don't know what THAT was all about.) he talked about his grandchildren, and i told him i was expecting my first. he said, If she-a looka like you, muy bella! I can tell, you heartstopper when you young. Look at you now. yeah. **** funny. **** short guys seem to like me. what's up with that? the shortest bowler in the place came up to me today and asked me to dinner. hung around the lobby for about an hour, first. i'm just minding my own business, neck deep in hamsters. wtf already. Any good places to eat around here? There's a steakhouse up yonder (I don't think I really said "yonder", but you get the point.)It's pretty good. I could sure use some company. Want to show me where it is? Not really. My guy expects me not to date others. He's funny like that. I would be, too. sheesh. **** i received (and signed) a contract today from Ficticious Force. they are publishing "Learning The Hard Way" in their fifth (print) issue. when the link goes live i'll post it. **** i endured a long and excruciating lecture from the knight tonight regarding my eating habits. and weight loss. it's the hamsters, i told him. he grokked. **** oh! speaking of guidos, guess who stopped by to say hi this afternoon? yes! GUIDO. the one and only. and HOLY SHIT MAN. he's lost a hundred (100!!) pounds. srsly! he looks so different, and yet so much the same. much trimmer, but it did not improve his overall appearance (still slimey) or his personality. he laid some big-time bullshit on us (Gem was on deck by now) and bragged about his new job in a casino. what a mindblower. **** okay, leave me alone now. i should be working. then on to the hamster wrestling. Check out TSB for the most legal fun you can have with your clothes on. Read/Post Comments (6) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
