yeah, okay, i get it. thought i might fool ya with the YouTubage and suchlike, but you caught me.

speaking of YouTubage, reenie asked me about the short animated film i posted
here. this was part of her comment:
It was pure and lovely and beautiful... but nothing really spoke to me with an obvious message - just little whispers. So, girl, what drew you in so close? What spoke to you so clearly?
this is part of my response to her:
you know, i don't know if i can answer this. it's like the tug you feel with some pieces of art -- no rhyme or reason, it's just a feeling you can't express...this video reminds me of being a little girl, before anything bad happened. when whispers were good things. you see?

uh, well, life sucks, you know. i get tired of writing about it, and i'm sure you get sick of reading about it. i don't have it any worse than anyone else, and i don't feel sorry for myself, for the most part. (we all have moments, i know you do, too.) i'm functioning, so i must be okay.

Gem is making final arrangements even as we speak to move on to a new job. i am so, so happy for her. she hates the place with a loathing only matched by my own, and we both agree, it's not the place or the job, but the owners.
she might need a housesitter and a dogsitter. i might know someone who could take that on.

she really is a Most Wonderful Friend. i'm quite lucky.

not lucky enough to buy a lotto ticket (heh) but still. i have amazing friends. not a lot of people can say that.
