music heaven

it was awesome.

in the three years i've lived here, i haven't been to this concert venue because they usually host harder rock bands than i prefer. it's big, but it's intimate and there was enough room i didn't get squicked at all. i'm sorry now i haven't gone before.

the first band, HoneyHoney, was friggin' fabulous. Suzanne Santo has this smoky voice, and the band's sound is unique and....wow, so cool. Ben Jaffe is a wonderful songwriter, and i THOROUGHLY enjoyed listening to them.

i didn't know they were staying at the hotel.

!!!!!

someone turned in some keys this morning, and sure enough, a couple of hours later out comes this young man, looking a little desperate and looking for keys. (of course, he doesn't yet know i'm the Goddess and Muthaf*ckin Princess, but he soon learns.) it was Ben, and imagine my FanGirl Delight!! he was very grateful i had the keys, and told me how Fabulous i am (which is true) and what beautiful eyes i have.

*blush*

heh. when Suzanne came out, i was able to tell her how much i enjoyed the music last night, and she was kind enough to give me an autographed CD (O M G) and she promised to pass on the message to Lifehouse that i would have their babies.

heh.

they were really, really sweet kids. and she's a REDHEAD....need i say more??

and THEN...

when i looked on the back of their CD, they are produced by JUDE COLE! OH...MY...GOD.

i have been a fan of Jude Cole since i worked at the insurance company. no wonder!

it was an absolutely wicked-assed morning.

****

the second band was Matt Nathanson, and he was pretty good as well. funny, funny guy -- he played parts of "Jesse's Girl" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and he was entertaining and fun.

****

but then...

OH!!!! (sorry. had a moment, there.)

Lifehouse is da bomb. they sound every bit as good live (better, i think) as they do in the studio. they fuckin' RAWK, and they had me singing, rawking, and crying all at the same time.

it was music heaven, and i might just go back to see Blind Melon in a couple of weeks.

i love this area. i really, really do.

here are the few pictures that actually came out decent:

****

more later, just let me get through this one farkin' shift.

yes, another phone call from Mr. R....isn't this borderline harassment? he told me i would be attending the Mayor's party this evening, and i said, no, i won't. i have plans.

he laughed.

we'll see who's laughing after the weekend, won't we?
