letter Eleven to my Muffin

Dear Muffin,

I had a whole entry typed out and I lost it. I said some really bad words (yes, I'll teach you when you're older, some things are too valuable not to hand down generation to generation) and your Noni is a wee bit ticked.

Anyway.

Spring has definitely sprung. The trees are budding out so fast you can almost see it. There's a patch of violets growing under the old arbor out back, which is covered in brown vines. They'll turn green as the season ripens. The puppy and I spend a lot of time out there, and he loves to jump through a shaded part of the yard in the back, where the grass grows long. When it's wet, he rolls in it and comes out looking like a wet hamster. He's so funny.

I miss living in the country, Muffin. There's so many people here, sometimes I feel very small. Then I think, you don't have to be big to have a big impact on people -- look how small you are, and how big you are in our hearts already.

I love having these talks with you, Muffin, because I always learn something new, and you teach me how to look at things from a different perspective. I hope I can do that for you when you get here. :)

I can't wait to see you, and I hope we get to find out what flavor you are. Mama says you're rockin' and rollin', which is just what I want to hear. And don't worry. Mama says she's not going to give you a cookie for scaring us like this, but if she says no and you want a cookie, you know what to do. :)

I love you Muffin, and I'll see you soon. Please take care of Mama the best you can.

<3
